Mission Statement:
The goal of the St. Coleman Education Foundation
is to enhance the quality of education at our school.
Our primary focus is to raise monies for an endowment
which will generate interest annually. The goal is to
use the interest to reward quality teachers. This will
enhance our ability to attract and retain the best teachers
and staff. Any contributions earmarked by a donor for
a specific purpose must and will be honored. We are striving
for excellence in Catholic Education. |
|
| |
Why Should I donate? Teaching is a
crucial vocation, especially in Catholic Schools. Teachers
spend more time with our children than most parents do
today. Here in the Archdiocese of Miami, Pastors strive
to pay the Catholic School Teachers roughly three-quarters
of the public school salaries. Consequently, our goal
is to reward teachers for their dedicated service. |
|
| |
Why don't they just raise tuition? St.
Coleman School's goal is to keep tuition affordable so
as to not exclude any child desiring a Catholic Education. |
|
| |
What is an endowment? An endowment
is a permanent investment. The principal is never spent;
thereby, ensuring the continued availability of the interest
generated. Interest earned from the endowment principal
is returned to the school to reward teachers unless specifically
requested by the donor to be used in a different manner. |
|
| |
Who will manage the St. Coleman Education funds? The
endowment will be managed by the Archdiocese of Miami
Education Foundation, Inc. (AEF), an autonomous but related
agency of the Archdiocese of Miami. AEF is a non-profit
organization incorporated in Florida since 1982, which
manages approximately $31 Million in assets from 85 different
area Catholic Schools. Professional consultants, overseen
by a board of directors, manage the assets of the Foundation.
This entity is audited annually by independent Certified
Public Accountants. While AEF is under the umbrella of
the Archdiocese, it is legally independent. |
|
| |
Is St. Coleman on the leading edge? NO!
Most schools in our area have established foundations,
including St. Anthony, St. Gregory, St. Joan of Arc, Cardinal
Gibbons, St. Thomas Aquinas, Pope John Paul II, and others.
Teacher compensation at some of these schools is already
equivalent to public school levels. |
|
| |
Is my donation tax deductible? Yes. |
|
| |
How Can I Help? You can help by identifying
potential donors, hosting a fundraising event, helping
at Grandparents' Day and assisting with marketing and
advertising. |
